Volkswagen Tiguan
The Tiguan crossover is the most popular Volkswagen in the brand’s model line, as well as the most popular SUV in Europe: 911 thousand cars were sold in 2019. By releasing the modernized version, engineers and marketers relied on the recognition of the previous model, as well as on the use of more advanced technologies (both in terms of power plants and in terms of the functionality of various crossover systems).
After restyling, the model received a redrawn front bumper, LED optics both at the front (decorated with running lights in the manner of the eighth Golf) and at the rear, and a more massive false radiator grille, referring to the older Touareg and Atlas models. This Tiguan now uses two-dimensional brand emblems, and the model name itself is now written in large letters above the rear license plate.
Power plants include 1.5- and 2.0-liter TSI petrol turbo engines, as well as 2.0-liter turbodiesels. To optimize NOx emissions, diesel units are equipped with a more advanced AdBlue supply system called Two Dosing, which should reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 80%. Various versions of the crossover are equipped with a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DSG robot; the drive can be either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (4Motion). In the latter case, the car is also equipped with an electronic locking differential.
