Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

The car went on sale in 2010 at a price of about 175,000 €. The sports car is equipped with a 6.2 liter V8 M159 engine developing 571 hp. With. at 6800 rpm and torque 650 Nm at 4750 rpm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission from Getrag. Like its ancestor – the 300SL – the SLS has gullwing doors. In September 2013, Mercedes-Benz announced that it would cease production of this model by June 2014 due to the arrival of a new sports car in its lineup.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has a length of 4640 mm, a width of 1940 mm, a height of 1260 mm and a wheelbase of 2680 mm. The SLS AMG was designed in the spirit of the modern Mercedes-Benz 300SL “Gullwing” from October 2006 to April 2007 by Mark Fetherston. The model is also equipped with adapted branded gullwing doors, which swing upward using gas struts. The doors are closed manually, as Mercedes-AMG engineers decided that an automatic closing system would add an extra 90 pounds (41 kg) to the vehicle’s weight.
