We choose Nissan Qashqai II generation (2014–2022) with mileage
When creating the Qashqai II generation, Nissan retained the successful concept of its predecessor. Of course, key design elements were modernized, and modern electronic assistants appeared at that time, such as a collision avoidance system, driver fatigue monitoring and blind spot monitoring.
At the same time, the Qashqai is not only built on the same platform, but also looks similar to the related third-generation X-Trail. The interior is quite European in appearance and feel, with welcoming front seats, but not the most spacious sofa in the class. The trunk is modest – only 430 liters.
In terms of power units and transmission, restyling brought a minimum of changes. The Qashqai is available with two petrol engine options: the base 1.2 turbo engine develops 115 hp. and is combined with a 6-speed manual transmission or CVT. There is no alternative to front-wheel drive for this version. Qashqai with a naturally aspirated 2.0 engine (144 hp) has the same set of gearboxes. True, during the restyling, the variator of the two-liter version received a new torque converter, which is blocked earlier than before, and the changed software slightly sharpened the response to the accelerator. The CVT Qashqai with a two-liter engine is also available with all-wheel drive. Before restyling, the crossover could also be ordered in a front-wheel drive version with a 1.6 diesel engine producing 130 hp. and a variator, but after the update this version was abandoned due to scanty demand.
Restyling gave the crossover a thoroughly redesigned chassis – the pre-reform Qashqai had a rather shaky and flabby suspension. Softer springs appeared, the characteristics of the shock absorbers changed, and the stabilizers became thicker. As a result, the crossover could boast one of the most energy-intensive suspensions in the class. And thanks to the modified steering, good handling has not gone away. During the update, the sound insulation was again improved.
Regardless of the year of manufacture, the easiest way to find a crossover is with a two-liter engine with 144 hp. and a variator. A manual transmission in combination with this engine is rare.
The most reliable gasoline engine is called 1.6 with “mechanics”. It is capable of traveling 200 thousand km. But such impressive mileage is possible with careful attention to maintenance. For example, changing the oil every 10 thousand km.
The 2-liter engine is also almost problem-free, but you will have to monitor the spark plugs and timing chain. Turbocharged and diesel engines are more fun to drive. They drive more cheerfully and also do not cause any complaints in service.
