Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
The Shelby Mustang is a high-tech variant of the Ford Mustang produced by Ford from 1965 to 1970. The Shelbys were a series of Ford Mustangs modified by Carroll Shelby and sold as Shelby GTs with Shelby Cobra logos. Since 1968, the model began to be called Shelby 500 or Shelby 350, respectively. Ford helped with its production capacity to compete with Corvette.
In 2007, following the introduction of the fifth generation Ford Mustang, the Shelby name was returned for new high-performance versions of the Mustang. Presented in two versions – GT500 and since 2015 GT350. The GT350 comes with a naturally aspirated engine, while the GT500 comes with a mechanical supercharger. There is also a version adapted for the GT350R track. The 2011 Shelby GT500 weighs approximately 1,735 kg.
