Most of the power plants in the fourth generation of the European version of the Tucson have undergone electrification. There are three options for electric add-on. This is a plug-in hybrid (1.6 T-GDI and electric motor, 265 horsepower), a simple hybrid (1.6 T-GDI and electric motor, 230 horsepower) and a number of 48-volt “soft” hybrids (petrol 1.6 T-GDI at 150 and 180 horsepower and diesel 1.6 CRDi at 136 horsepower). However, 150-horsepower gasoline and 115-horsepower diesel engines can be obtained without an electric add-on. In other markets, 2.0- and 2.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engines (156 horsepower and 190 horsepower), as well as a 2.0-liter diesel engine (186 horsepower) are also available.

The car can be equipped with either a manual transmission with iMT electronic control or a “robot” with two seven-speed clutches; It is possible to get all-wheel drive. The 230-horsepower hybrid is equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission.
