Lotus Evija
The car is based on a carbon fiber monocoque weighing 129 kg. The total weight of the supercar is 1680 kg. The Lotus Evija uses four electric motors – one for each wheel. Total power – 2000 hp. (torque – 1700 Nm). The manufacturer calls its model the most powerful production car on the planet.
To achieve these results, specialists from Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE) were brought in. With their help, it was possible to increase the output of the traction battery to 2000 kW. The two-door car spends less than three seconds accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h. Moreover, it takes less than nine seconds to accelerate to 300 km/h. “Maximum speed” – more than 320 km/h.
The battery is installed in the central tunnel. It is located behind the passenger compartment, and its cover is visible through the rear window. With this arrangement, the manufacturer managed to achieve optimal weight distribution. The capacity is 70 kWh. This is enough for 400 km of measured driving according to the WLTP test cycle. Charging power up to 800 kW is supported, although so far even the most advanced European stations are capable of delivering only 350 kW. In this case, 12 minutes will be enough to charge the electric car by 80%.
