Volkswagen ID.4

Volkswagen ID.4 is a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive electric crossover. First generation of the model. The premiere online (from New York) took place on September 23, 2020.

The ID.4 is the first electric crossover from the Volkswagen brand, which is based on a platform developed exclusively for electric cars. This is a so-called skateboard platform called MEB, which involves the presence of one or two electric motors, as well as batteries of various capacities.

The longest-range option is the ID.4 in a configuration with a single motor on the rear axle (204 hp and 310 Nm of torque) and an 82-kilowatt battery (77 kWh used). Such an electric car can travel up to 520 km on a single charge (according to the WLTP cycle), acceleration to the first 100 km/h takes 8.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 160 km. From a 125-kilowatt terminal, you can replenish the battery charge equivalent to 100 km of range in 8 minutes.

It will be difficult to confuse the ID.4 with other models of the brand: it uses a style that is characteristic exclusively of VW electric vehicles (first implemented on the ID.3 hatch). Its characteristic features are smoother transitions on the body panels, a concave hood, head optics with diode edging, and roof pillars in a contrasting color. So that ID.4 owners do not forget that this is still a crossover, the model is equipped with unpainted plastic inserts all around, the declared ground clearance is 21 cm.
